I know it is a little too late to announce an event. Since Table tennis event is rescheduled, we can have some dinner events before we do the exercise next time.

I pick Salad King because it is located next to Eaton center(Dundas and Yonge). For those who have been to Salad King, you might know how spicy and yummy the food is. The price on the menu is very reasonable.

On Friday, this place is very VERY busy, so no reservation is allowed. I am going to wait for you all in front of the restaurant. We will get a table for whoever arrives there for the event. If you think you will be late, please give me a call (I will send my phone number to you on Friday).

Moved to Sunday to see if more people can make it...

Speed Friend Making

We have a large group of members with broad interests and experience. But, all of us share a common bond - we're Asian. I think it's time to see if we can connect people together. Bear with me for this little experiment.

Problem with most events is that people stay with people they know or the group they started. So, if you don't know anyone to start with, it's intimidating and hard to break in to the cliques. I'm going to try a creative solution borowed from speed dating - aptly called speed friend making(TM). :)

The goal of this event is NETWORKING and meeting people with whom you have something in common.

How it works: Every 15 minutes, we'll notify everyone and you'll have to disperse and stop talking with the group that you're talking with right now and join a different group. This forces everyone to interact with someone new. At the end, you can write down each other's contact if you want to talk some more or we'll all go out together as a group afterwards if there's interest.

Where: Duke of Richmond (inside the Eaton Center close to Dundas Subway station)
Time: Sunday, November 12th, 2006 - 6 - 8pm
Fee: $1 plus cost of food

Tinto Coffee House

http://www.tinto.ca/

I think many of you might have heard about this place already. It will be my first time to that place. Because of its great reputation for its organic coffee and great taste of Latin America food, many people have visiting it and given it great rate. If you want to read more about its story, here is the one:

After the brunch, we can walk around the neighborhood. There is a lot of stuff around and you might get some fantastic finds there. hehe?. or we can carpool or take TTC to High Park to catch the last moment of the fall.

Whirly Ball is a mix between basketball and lacrosse played in bumper cars. Drive around in a bumper car trying to shoot a ball into a net without getting bumped by your opponents. Normally, you need a group of 10 to try this, so you won't get a chance like this again!

We're going to head to Yorkdale mall for food and/or a movie afterwards, so that everyone can get a chance to really get to know each other.

The cost is $208 per hour for the team (split evenly among participants). We will meet there at 1:30pm and start at 2pm sharp.

It's the weekend after the long weekend and the weather's getting cold, so time for something hot! We're going to the Korean Grill House for lunch, my FAVORITE hangout! Good Food, ALL you can eat, good friends, cheap prices. What more do you want? :)

Korean Grill House
214 Queen St. W. Toronto, ON M5V 1Z2

It's 2 minutes west of Osgoode Station if you're coming by subway.

Phone: (416) 263-9850 Fax:(416) 263-9832

D ining out is supposed to be a treat so why consider cooking your own food at a restaurant -- and pay for the chance to boot? The Korean Grill House is betting on it. And judging by the many munchers that fill up the place at all hours of the day and night, it appears this cook-it-yourself concept is being eaten up by Toronto's trendanistas. Think of it as meat fondue, only instead of cooking with hot oil, a gas-powered grill does the job. Terrific entertainment value that's cheap-as-borscht -- and includes the free fun factor with every dish.

To All Merry (Wo)Men:

This event is indoors and will take place rain or shine

The Archers of Caledon (http://archersofcaledon.org/?page_id=9) is one of the few archery clubs which own its facilities. They are fortunate to have 33 acres of beautiful forested land in the Caledon Hills northwest of Toronto.

The total cost per person is $25-$30. This is through a special deal arranged with the owner and includes a 2 hour beginner lesson from a certified instructor and an additional 2 hours of supervised practise time afterwards. All equipment and rentals are included as part of the cost. The exact cost will depend on the number of people who sign up, but the cost of each instructor is $150 and s/he generally teaches around 6 people. I will be driving some people up (limited to first email first served) from Queens Quay station downtown if you need a ride.

If you need a ride, please email me your contact information (cellphone / contact info).

Hi everyone:

This is an event run by Asians without Borders (not affiliated with this group in any way). It seems to be an interesting seminar that I will be attending but is not an "official" meetup event.

Ok so enough people have asked what's next so I thought I might actually plan something lol. I'm not sure why I keep planning things I'm not good at though haha.

Now I heard this place gets pretty cool with glow in the dark bowling <--- cool and live DJ and various other 'cool' things like being liquor licensed. :) We will be billed by the hour and will split costs at the end of the night. Every man and woman for themselves with drinks and food though.

And finally, no I did not pick this place because I live uh relatively close to it. :P

See you then!

TTC Station: Yorkdale
I can pick up a few souls from there and I know most of the members here can do the same if I ask enough lol. Or you can walk, it's only 5 blocks or so. I think.
