Hey all,

Thanks to Joyseeker, we have organized a small get-together at her place for May 8. Space is limited for the first 25 people so RSVP! This particular get-together is vegetarian themed to "mark" a healthy start of the month. Come down to meet some new friends and to engage in a variety of last minute thought up activities :)

THIS FUNCTION IS STRICTLY VEGETARIAN. ZOE AND I HAVE DECIDED THAT WE WANT TO KEEP A "HEALTHY" THEME. As much as I will greatly miss the taste of beef, I admit that I should consider trying a healthier lifestyle. Plus I think it will be a great opportunity to experiment a new culinary perspective.

Any questions? Please contact me via email or at my cell [masked]

DESCRIPTION:

Please join the Asian Canadians Meetup on Friday, May 8, at 7 pm, for their May Veg Potluck Dinner!
Location will be downtown, and TTC accessible.

Please bring a tasty vegetarian dish to share. Ideas include: anything from curries, to stir-fries, to pad thai, to soups, to salads, fruits (durian, anyone?), desserts, snacks, drinks/juices. If you enjoy cooking, check out http://www.vegcooking....

Given that this is an Asian Canadian group, you're more than encouraged to bring an Asian delight. Please bring enough for 4-5 portions.

DIRECTIONS:

TBA 1-2 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT TO THOSE WHO HAVE RSVP'D YES. LOCATION WILL BE DOWNTOWN AND TTC.

p.s. I've messaged Janet. I'm not sure why she can't RSVP, and asked her to get in touch with Kris to let him know of her plans.

Based on comments I have heard that some people are interested in some group games like poker. If people are down, I can bring some chips and stuff and we can play for fun/minimal buy in. Or perhaps we can play for chores to do after clean-up :p I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas out.

I've been veggie for 5+ years, and I've been mostly Asian forever - feel free to ask me any q's for some Asian veg potluck ideas. Seriously! I'm very much looking forward to meeting more members of this group!

I was happy to meet some new people. Also, the food was great. Mmm Mmm!!
    •  Everyone who attended was awesome and we had quite a few great conversations. The food was delicious and Zoe was a very gracious hostess. The night ended with some games of pool...many of which I lost. Some highlights of my night: Emily's bank shots, Janet's physiotherapy advice, thinking Jester was a graphic designer when he really was in banking, Zoe's pool breaking skills (which was another way of saying lamp breaking.), Matt freaking out over the orange ball and Steven calling me from North York (Again, I am sorry my message did not come across right) Good times for all and I am looking forward to our next meetup.
